Blending the vibrancy of a charming retail center and the enjoyment of an extensive swim club together with the serenity of miles of walking and biking trails, La Floresta in Brea is the ideal setting for your new residence. When completed, La Floresta is planned to include:
- Sub-neighborhoods for people over 60, over 55, and an all-age neighborhood
- Meandering trails for walking or biking throughout all of the La Floresta community
- Parks, play areas for children, and BBQ areas
- La Floresta Swim Club- a 6,100 square-foot resort style amenity for use by residents of the all-age neighborhood
- An 87,000 square-foot retail center with indoor/outdoor dining, charming shops, and offices
There will be about 1,100 homes at La Floresta in total, on 120 acres located at the corner of Imperial Highway and Valencia. Current plans for land use estimate about 70% of residences will be for all ages with the remaining 30% being age-qualified.
Standard Pacific Homes (now part of CalAtlantic Homes) designed and built the Paseo Townhomes, Avenida single family homes, and Camino homes. Van Daele Homes designed and built three neighborhoods including Ventanas single family homes and Alterra single level stacked flats, which included some live-work residences, and Castile, a collection of charming bungalows and flats with private courtyards and garages.
Alterra features single-level flats and two-story live/work residences designed with richly detailed, three-story Spanish style architecture and include two-car garages for each home. Four innovative floor plans offers up to three bedrooms and provide open concept living and dining areas, gourmet kitchens with abundant cabinetry and decks or porches.
Castile, currently sold out, is an enchanting village of 30 single-family detached bungalow homes and carriage flats. These unique single-level and two story residences offer two to four bedrooms and up to 3.5 baths, private courtyards for outdoor entertaining and private garages.
Residents of the Olvera and Solana collection of homes will have access to an exclusive private clubhouse with complete amenities and programs to develop your creative, social, physical and intellectual abilities. These 2 collections of detached single and two story homes from approximately 1400 to 3000 square feet will feature the latest trends in new home designs with open living layouts, gourmet kitchens anchored by oversized kitchen islands and entries with built-in bench and cubbies.
The Village at La Floresta is bustling with activity since Whole Foods Market opened its first North Orange County location in February 2017. Whole Foods anchors the new retail hub located in the mixed use master planned community of La Floresta in Brea. The occasion was marked by inviting Brea’s Mayor to participate in a bread-breaking ceremony with Whole Foods team members, city officials and the community. At the event, shoppers received free samples and the first 300 people to enter the store received reusable shopping bags. Kids enjoyed bag decorating with vegetable stamps. There were also food demonstrations, a DJ and a photo booth.
What makes this a special shopping and dining experience at the Village is Oasis, a $2.5 million dollar kinetic sculpture designed by artists Douglas Hollis and Anna Valentina Murch. Located just outside the front doors of Whole Foods, the art piece was celebrated by the community on April 9 where Hollis, local dignitaries and members of the project team including La Floresta Project Manager Ivan Jimenez dedicated the art piece.
La Floresta Swim Club will offer a place for residents of the all-age neighboorhood to meet and play in a one-of-a-kind building with Spanish-Romantic architecture reflective of the residential architecture sprinkled throughout the community.
The expansive private Club offers indoor multipurpose rooms and a catering kitchen, as well as an outdoor pool, spa, showers and a dining patio with barbecues and seating for small parties. The thoughtful designs are reflective of the multi-generational residents who will be using the Club. Residents and their guests can enjoy a recreational lawn, fire pit and interactive water feature for children. The Club is surrounded by beautiful, lush landscaping including mature trees, plants and flowers.
Brea’s nine schools have an excellent reputation in Orange County for academics, athletics, and cultural arts and music. Awards include National Blue Ribbon Schools of Excellence, California Distinguish Schools and several educators have been recognized as California and Orange County Teacher of the Year. Residents living in La Floresta will reap the benefits of the Brea Olinda Unified School District’s commitment to excellence including a newly constructed elementary school within walking distance from their homes.
Athletics are also engrained into Brea’s community culture. BOHS athletic teams have won perhaps more league championships than any other Orange County school over the past quarter century. Team sports, such as basketball, football, soccer, track & field, swimming, softball, baseball, golf and volleyball have enjoyed great success and continue to rank among the top contenders in the Century League.
Outstanding arts and vocational programs are prevalent at all school levels. The School District has a regionally recognized model Photography program and the junior high and high schools’ vocal music classes feed into the United Choir of Brea, an award winning show choir with more than 120 participants.
