Lakeview Terrace is a suburban neighborhood in the north east area of Los Angeles, CA. It is bordered to the north by the Angeles National Forest, and shares its zip code with the city of Sylmar to the west. Lakeview Terrace is close by to many famous movie and T.V. studios such as Universal, Warner Bros., and Walt Disney. The Los Angeles Zoo is a short drive to south east and Burbank Airport is easily accessible; the Los Angeles Discovery cube makes a great day trip for the whole family.

Lakeview terrace is one of only a few remaining residential areas in the City of Los Angeles that has private homes zoned for horse-keeping and hosts a large equestrian community. The eastern part of the neighborhood has a more rural feel to it while the western side is characterized by more homes and businesses adjacent to the cities of Pacoima and Panorama City, making Lakeview Terrace a “semi-rural” community. Some streets have beautiful scenic views of the San Gabriel mountains. Councilman Mitch Englander, a supporter of officially recognizing the district by the City Council, said the ZIP code designation will add a sense of genuine community. The area is bounded by Nordhoff Street to the north, Balboa Boulevard to the east, Southern Pacific railroad to the south and Lindley Avenue to the west. It includes around 1,200 properties and more than 4,800 residents.

While there is no Robin Hood in Sherwood Forest, the area has a lot of trees and it’s almost like living in a mountain community. The community of Sherwood Forest has existed, informally, for decades. In fact, the area was one of the original named tracts in the city, and the official recognition. The homeowner’s association is one of the most active in the area, and there are several homes for sale.

Sherwood Forest will remain part of the Northridge South Neighborhood Council.

The area is conveniently located close to CSUN, Northridge Fashion Center, Dearborn Park and MetroLink station.
